Working Shift Hours..

As a concierge in a service apartment, my job requires me and my colleagues to work on shifts. Basically we only have three shifts. On Mondays to Saturdays, morning shifts would be from 7am until 3pm, afternoon shifts from 12pm until 8pm, and night shifts from 3pm until 11pm. As for Sundays and public holidays, morning shifts would be from 9am until 5pm, followed by 10am until 6pm, and afternoon shifts from 12pm until 8pm. There is no need for a graveyard shift, as in working through the night, and public transports are still available after 11pm.

Before this, my brother was using my motorbike, so I had to rely on public transport to go to work. Morning and afternoon shifts weren't much of a trouble, as for the night shift, there's still the LRT in KLCC, but I would have to get a cab or ask someone to fetch me from the LRT station near my house as there were no more buses operating. Now that I have taken back my motorbike from my brother, I don't have to go through all that unless it rains.

Last year, there wasn't much of a problem with our schedules as everyone would just follow their schedules or just switch it with another person if they have something to do. This year, things started to get messy. We have two full-time staffs which can be considered as my junior as they just joined early this year. They have been a pain in the ass, always complaining about having night shifts, no transport back, and etc. If they have so much problems with working shift hours, why apply for this job in the first place?

Some even have other priorities that affects their work schedule and break time here. Having part-time work, fetching boyfriend's children, sending car to far-off places, and etc. And yet they dare to keep requesting things and making everyone's life miserable. I'm so pissed off every time I hear these people complain about things when they are the one who are mostly giving problems. I really miss the time when my previous boss and supervisor were still here, minus the new colleagues. Things are much more simple compared to now.

Expect The Unexpected..

There are so many uncertainties in life. One might suddenly get a promotion, get fired, win a lucky draw, or even getting involved in an accident. So how do one face their daily lives without knowing what their day would bring?

Just like this morning when I was on the way to work on my bike, a bag fell down from the bike in front of me and I almost collided with it. If I weren't careful enough and drove just a little faster, I would have hit the bag and injure myself. It was a close call. There were few other times as well where I almost met with an accident, but thank god I survived.

To expect the unexpected does not mean that you have to worry about what will happen all the time, but instead it is to remind yourself that anything can happen. So be cautious, but not to the extreme, and live your life to the fullest so as to prevent yourself from having any regrets in case anything unwanted happens.

LG Cookie Monster Party..

There weren't many attendees who went with a costume for this event last Saturday, heck there weren't many that attended as well. It might be due to the reason that they only gave out single invites instead of two, so not many people were interested to go as they usually want to attend such events with a friend. It was held in Neutral Club, or previously known as Oblique, which was a gay club in Jalan P.Ramlee.

I wore my polar bear hat (not sure what is it called exactly) which I bought from Chatuchak while Cookie Donut went there with a crocodile puppet. Robb on the other hand was wearing his blue seal hat which he bought from Chatuchak as well. I think we're the least scariest male monsters in that room.

The highlight of the party was most probably the dance performance by the Wonder Nuffies, as well as the food which was catered by Modestos. Other than that, everything else seems just average. It might be better if there were more people who attended the party though, so it wouldn't seem so empty. I got to know a cute guy there though. It has been awhile since I've got to know new bloggers, and it's kinda nice.

After the party ended, we thought of going to Market Place to continue clubbing, but went back home instead as we were all kinda tired. Had to work on Sunday as well, so I guess I can't party too much. Oh well, at least I got to know a cute guy. Haha.

I Love to Touch My Dogs..

It's not secret now that I'm a dog person. I have 2 dogs, Zuzu and Zizi.Wheeeeeeeeeeee~~~

Among the best thing about having cute doggies is the sensation of touching them. No, not the bad kind of touch (molest), but the good touch. A pat on their head, a stroke on their hair and of course touching their soft paws.

Their paws are really soft!! Soft till can die when they were puppies, okay? XD

Now they are still soft, but definitely not as soft as when they were puppies.

The sensation of touching is something that I enjoy very much personally. Of course, hugging your loved ones is at the top of my list, but I also enjoy using touchscreen devices. Buttons are so 90s these days. I mean, there are affordable touch screen phones all around, like the latest LG Cookie range which is being promoted by the LG Cookie Monster Party by Nuffnang - LG Cookie 3G, LG Cookie Plus and LG Cookie Fresh. These phones are so cool and yet so affordable!

Can you imagine you can get a touchscreen phone for at the range of RM600 bucks onwards? Incredible!! To celebrate this new range, I so wanna join the LG Cookie Monster Party happening this weekend at Neutral Club, KL.

I already got my costume ready. I can't wait to terrify people with my cutie monster look. Meow~ LOL.

See you there this weekend if you're going. XD

Khorb Koon Khrab..

Time seems to pass so fast when you're enjoying yourself. Now that I'm back home, I'm already thinking of when will I be able to go back to Bangkok again. Next time, I will definitely bring more than RM1000 as it was not enough for me spend. I would most probably check for Air Asia's next promotion and faster plan another trip ahead.

The second and third day in Bangkok was a bit of a disappointment as I didn't get to do the things that I wanted to. We started the second day by heading off to the famous Chao Phraya River. It was quite easy to reach there as there was a BTS Skytrain nearby our hotel and it stops directly before the river. The fare was quite cheap for a one way ticket, it's like sitting a bus.

Our main destination was to the Grand Palace of Bangkok, and also Wat Pho, temple of the reclining Buddha. We departed from the Sathorn (Taksin) Pier and then stopped at the Tha Tien Pier. The weather was quite sunny as we were starting to sweat before we even reached our destination. We found Wat Pho first, and went in to explore the temple. We were sweating like mad when we finished our short tour there.

Next up, we went around looking for the entrance to the Grand Palace. It was very huge and there's only one entrance so we had to walk awhile before we finally found the place. We even had to go through the Amulet Market, which is by the roadside and sells mostly amulets, as the name suggested. I took some pictures around the place and was quite excited when we found the entrance. When we wanted to walk pass the guards, we were stopped and the guard asked Robb to change his jeans as it was not appropriate. Apparently their dress code was more strict then I anticipated. There's a building where they rent out 'proper' clothings to visitors, but Robb didn't want to pay for it so in the end, we didn't manage to go in.

We went all the way back to the hotel with me feeling disappointed and uncomfortable with all the sweat. Robb suggested that we go to Siam Paragon instead since it was still early. We went to catch a movie there and the cinema was very grand! The pricing for the movie tickets were expensive too, but it was worth the experience. We walked around the area and had dinner in their food court. The food was expensive as usual, but it was the best tasting meal we had so far.

We then went back to the same massage parlor that we visited on the previous night, and headed back to the hotel after that. Our original plan was to go to one of the hottest gay club in town, DJ Station, around 10pm, but we had to cancel it as it started to rain very heavily. Robb felt that I was quite disappointed, so he went down to the nearby 7-Eleven to buy some booze to cheer me up.

On the third day, we overslept a little and went to Chatuchak market a little bit later than what we planned, but it was still alright as the place wasn't fully packed with people yet. It is really a very huge place with lots and lots of things to buy! After few hours there, we practically cleared our entire budget for the trip. We just had enough left to eat dinner, buy few snacks and pay for the cab back to the airport on the next day. This overspending ruined our plan to go DJ Station again. Oh well.

Overall, it was a pleasant trip as it is always nice to explore new places with your beloved. It could have been better, but I guess there's nothing to regret as I can still visit those places when I go to Bangkok again. I kinda like the place, as the food there is quite nice, the guys are good looking (not Robb's type though), and it is refreshing to leave KL once awhile. I would want to go on a holiday again soon, not sure where though. Anyone wanna bring me around? xD

First Day In Bangkok..

Our flight arrived 30 minutes earlier than expected, and it was quite tiring. I didn't get much sleep the night before, and it is quite hard to sleep in the plane as Air Asia's plane is quite small. The airport is quite big, and I kinda like the design. After passing the immigration, we went to look for our luggage, which is quite easy to detect as there isn't much bags like mine.

Robb went to look for a local prepaid card straight away as he said he has to reply emails as well although he's off for holiday with me. He took a very long time to get his blackberry working as there were some problems with the settings, so I just sat there and wasted more than 30 minutes doing nothing. It is quite depressing, to see him always attend to his blackberry whenever I go on a holiday with him. I can't blame him though as that is the nature of his job, but sometimes it makes me feel like going on holidays with other people instead.

It wasn't hard to get transport to our hotel, as there is this Airport Express buses that goes around town, and one of it stops directly in front of Tawana Hotel. So we bought two tickets which costs 150 Bahts each. It is quite costly for a bus, but it is cheaper than taking a cab and we don't have to worry about taking the wrong public buses which are much cheaper.

The weather was cloudy and it drizzled a bit on our way to the hotel. I wanted to take pictures along the way but my camera ran out of battery, so I just enjoyed the view while half falling asleep as it was cold and I was tired. There were only 2 other passengers in the bus, one is a white guy and another looks local. We were the last to go down, and the hotel looks great!

We booked our room in Tawana Hotel through Agoda, a website where you can get cheaper room rates. It was very worth the price, as Tawana Hotel is a 4-star hotel (so says the website), and the room is actually quite nice! When we checked in, they gave us a twin bed room, and the room smelled funny. I called the front desk to change it to a double bed room, and within minutes, another room was prepared for us. This time, the room is beautiful, and it didn't smell like the previous room. Robb gave the bellboy some tips before he left and we unpacked our things.

After a short rest, we went out to explore around the area. It is quite hard to buy anything as not much people here knows English, and we can't speak nor read Thai. So we just wandered around the place, looking for things to eat. Since we can't read Thai, we only ended up eating Wan Tan Mee, as it is the easiest to order.

We continued to wander around after that and found ourselves a place for massage. The place is called Prime Massage, and it is just one straight road down from Tawana Hotel. We didn't know anything about the place, just thought that it looked nice and the price was not expensive. We went in, and Robb got himself a foot massage and Thai massage, while I opted for a Thai massage and oil massage. It was my first time to visit a massage parlor, so I wouldn't know how to rate it, but it was quite nice and the guy was cute as well. Haha. He offered me a happy ending, and I was quite inclined to accept it but didn't as it was quite expensive. I wouldn't want to pay 400 Baht for something that can be done in my own room for free. =P

Later in the evening, we went to Sauna Mania, as Robb heard that a lot of locals go there. We went there around 6pm, but there wasn't much people at that time. The place is quite alright I guess, and people started to pour in around 7-8pm. There were quite a number of hot guys there, lean body and manly looking face. Not really a crowd for Robb though, mostly my type. We didn't get to know any guys there, as we just wandered around, looking at the crowd. I wonder what would happen though if someone were to approach us. xD

We went for dinner afterwards, at a stall by the road. I finally get to eat tomyam! We ordered tomyam, bbq chicken, fried rice and belacan kangkung. The food was just alright, but it was very expensive as it came in a total of 490 Baht. The environment around the area is quite nice actually, not much rubbish on the floor. I didn't notice any fat guys too as most of them were lean. We slowly walked back to our hotel room as we were tired already. There were stalls selling clothes, bags, food and etc all along the road, but we didn't buy anything as we will be going to Chatuchak to shop this Saturday!

Had my own happy ending in our comfortable room and a very nice sleep, but I woke up around 5am and didn't manage to go back to sleep till now. It's just 7am here but the sun is already shining brightly. Will be heading to the Royal Palace later on when Robb wakes up. Hopefully it doesn't rain. xD

Long Awaited Trip..

I'm heading to Bangkok tomorrow! It has been a very long time since I've stepped foot in Thailand. My last trip there was more than 10 years ago, and it was a trip with my family to Hat Yai. It was so long ago that I don't remember much of it. Hopefully there are some pictures back in Penang.

I wanted more people to go along with me, but didn't manage to find anyone who is interested to tag along. So now it's just me and Robb, going on our honeymoon outside of Malaysia without any guides for the first time! I'm so excited now that I can't seem to fall asleep. One of my colleague offered to drop us off at LCCT but it seems abit too far, so I just asked him to drop us off at KL Sentral instead.

He's gonna reach here around 3am, and we'll be going for supper at BRJ first before heading off to KL Sentral. Hopefully I'll get some sleep when I'm in the bus to LCCT, as well as in the plane later on. I don't wanna be feeling tired on my first day in a foreign land. I haven't even started packing!

I better go wake Robb up now and start packing our things. Adios~

New Boss..

My previous boss and supervisor had already left. There wasn't any replacement for them for few weeks, so me and another senior of mine had to take turns to help out in the office on alternate weeks. This was all done on goodwill, as there wasn't any allowance or increment. It was alright at first, until the new boss came in.

He came in on the day I went back to Penang, so I didn't know much about him at that time. But the few days back in Penang, I've heard enough from my colleagues to know that he is one troublesome person to deal with. He's a 60+ year old uncle and they way he works is completely different from our previous boss.

It has only been a week since his arrival, already two of my colleagues tendered their resignation. The Account's Assistant had a better job offer so it didn't had anything to do with the new boss, but the head of Maintenance left because he could not stand working together with him. Even my senior said that it was very stressful to work with him as he always ask them to do things that are unnecessary.

So far, I felt that most of the things he asked us to do is totally irrelevant and it made our workplace somehow looked like a cheap building. Imaging having paper signs taped on the walls and glass windows in a building just 5 minutes away from KLCC. He didn't even find a replacement for our supervisor and expect us to do all the extra jobs without any incentives or increments.

The morale in my work place is very low at the moment. It used to be a very warm and friendly place to work at. Now that the new boss is in, everyone seems to be all worked up and unhappy. Even some of the junior concierge staffs are starting to show their bad habits, taking things for granted. Oh well, what to do. There's no one to actually manage all of us.

If only I knew what I wanted to do, or what I can do, then I could at least look for a better job.

Growing Up..

The wedding dinner last night was great! Our group filled up 3 tables but we were seated far behind Eing Yung. It was alright though as he has a very big family and has to put them all in front. The dinner was done in a restaurant called Stone Bay, the same place where I went with Robb and my family during Chinese New Year.

All the familiar faces were there, looking smart wearing shirts and polo-tees, except for me with my bright colored t-shirt. The place was already packed with his relatives when I arrived. Soon after, food were served and an endless supply of Tiger beer were given. I've nothing much to comment on the food as I've had it before and it was just ok.

Going through a friend's wedding somehow made me realize that all of us are no longer young. He is the first among us to get married, and there will be more weddings to come sooner or later. The only person who most probably would not get to experience having such a wedding, attended by all his family and friends is me. Which is why I was having mixed emotions that entire week, feeling happy and sad at the same time.

I guess that was what made me drink that much during the wedding dinner. I took advantage of the situation, drinking and cheering with my friends. While I was happily cheering and drinking with them, another part that wanted to drink was the emotional me. I didn't exactly get real drunk, but I was not in the condition to drive. Lucky for me Boon is still sober, and he dropped me back home.

Now I'm back home in KL, after a tiring 4 hours bus ride from Penang's Queensbay Mall. I seemed to have followed my mother in the sense that I get car sick easily. The ride was more bumpy than usual though, and I didn't have much to eat which made my stomach uneasy. Took a cab straight from Corus Hotel even though he did not follow the meter and charged me RM15.

Once I reached home, I was greeted by my son and daughter, Zuzu and Zizi. It seemed that they missed me a lot as both of them were wagging their tail and jumping all around me. They were never this excited to see me before, and it made me very happy to be home with them as I miss them too. There is one more person that I whole heartedly miss, and he's not home yet. Will be eager to see him back home after he finishes his work tonight.

Torture..

Today would be the day where my friend Eing Yung goes to pick up his wife from her house. As his 'brothers', me and our group of friends will be the subject of torture from the bridesmaids! This is the first time that I'm going to experience such an event as most of the time I would only see it in the movies. I wonder if it would really be as bad as what I've seen.

Last night at his house, there were lots of people coming and going. Near midnight, there was sort of a ceremony for him to go through. While in pajamas, he was escorted down by his parents, and then he had to pray to some god. Looking at such processions, I couldn't help but feeling sad that my parents would not be able to go through all this with me and could only wait for my brother.

Oh well, I guess coming out to them would still have to wait, and now I'm off to fetch the bride!

Weddings..

After missing for so long, I'm finally back in Penang again! One of my secondary school friend is going to get married this weekend and I definitely could not miss this. He was one of the first that I've came out to regarding my sexuality and during college in Penang we would hang out most of the time.

I was quite surprised when I knew that he is getting married as it happened all of a sudden. He didn't actually tell anyone of us, but instead he made an event page in Facebook and invited us to his wedding dinner. So here I am, back in my old room, using my newly acquired HP Netbook to online and write a short update in my dead blog.

Anyway, I'm off to prepare to go to his house for dinner now. Would want to update more frequently now that I have a Netbook. So many changes these few weeks, it would have been nice to have it all written down. So till next time, adios!

p.s. Dear dear! I miss you so much. Take care of Zuzu and Zizi kay? Tell them I love them lots!
